About Telltale Hearts

Telltale Hearts was founded by life-long vintage shopper and retail fashion buyer Melissa Patchett, and confirmed online shopaholic Brandy Linstrum. Melissa developed her love of thrift store shopping as a child, and learned early on how to re-work her finds to resemble looks from the hottest runways in fashion magazines. She obtained a degree in fashion design in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she met Brandy - who was already shopping online way back then. Pursuing her dream of a career in fashion, Melissa relocated to Los Angeles where she landed a job buying for a major online clothing retailer. For many years Melissa travelled the world, witnessing the runways of New York, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and more. Brandy stayed home and shopped online. Though she spent her days buying from cutting edge design houses in Europe and NYC, Melissa always preferred to sneak off and find the local vintage shops and thrift stores where she quietly began to put together her collection of fantastic vintage pieces. Brandy continued to shop online, but became increasingly dissatisfied with the experiences available to online shoppers like herself and her friends. She dreamed of being able to find unique vintage pieces with a modern feel without ever leaving the house. She dreamed of being able to stock up on her favorite lines of cool basics while picking up a fabulous vintage necklace at the same time. She dreamed of being able to sit at home with her animals and write about fashion all day! So, in the true spirit of friendship and entrepreneurship, both girls quit their day jobs and set out to do just that. They curated a collection of unique, high quality vintage pieces that fits their asthetic - cool, dark, edgy, and fun. They put together a list of contemporary designers to compliment their vintage collection. They styled their vintage and their contemporary collections together, hoping to erase the "frumpy" from vintage once and for all. They designed a website that offers all the shopability and functionality of a major online retailer. They created Telltale Hearts to share with you, and they're just getting started.
